Selected candidates will be permanently posted within their applied state for the first 12 years of service or until their promotion to Scale-IV.

Selection Process
| Online Written Examination | 140 objective questions carrying 200 marks (Duration: 3 hours). There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer. |
| Local Language Proficiency Test (LPT) | Mandatory for candidates who did not study the specific local language in their 10th or 12th standard. |
| Personal Interview | Carries 100 marks. The final selection merit list will be prepared based on an 80:20 weightage ratio of the Online Exam and Interview marks. |
